Day 1: (No meals included today)


Stay: Hilton Colon Guayaquil

Arrive into Guayaquil, Ecuador where you are met by an A&K representative and transferred to the hotel.


Day 2: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Guayaquil – Galapagos Islands 

Stay: Pikaia Lodge

Morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. 
On arrival at Baltra Airport you are met and transferred to Pikaia Lodge, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Located on Santa Cruz Island the lodge is situated on a small plateau within a 31-hectare private giant tortoise reserve. Spectacular views are possible from all parts of the lodge. There are 14 contemporary rooms and suites all with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, private shaded terraces and balconies.


Day 3-4: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Galapagos Islands

Stay: Pikaia Lodge

The next two days are spent at Pikaia Lodge where a unique style of eco-adventure is planned. Guided half and full day explorations are conducted from the lodge with options to be tailored to the group.


Day 5: (Breakfast, Dinner)

Galapagos Islands – Quito 

Stay: Casa Gangotena

This morning you are transferred to the airport for the flight to Quito. On arrival, you are met by A&K and transferred to the hotel. This afternoon is a guided tour of the historic centre of Quito before dinner. Casa Gangotena occupies an enviable site in Quito’s Old Town on the Plaza San Francisco. Rebuilt in the 1920s after a fire, the historic mansion has been reborn as an elegant 31-room boutique hotel. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.


Day 6: Quito - (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)


Stay: Mashpi Lodge

Early this morning you are met by A&K and transferred approximately 4 hours west to the Mashpi Rainforest Biodiversity Reserve, a haven for wildlife. Stay at the award-winning Mashpi Lodge and this afternoon a wildlife activity is scheduled with an optional night walk after dinner.

Mashpi Lodge is intimate with 22 understated yet luxurious rooms. The lodge design is sophisticated and strikingly contemporary with floor-to-ceiling windows in all the rooms maximising views over the cloud forest. Dining at the lodge is a lively gourmet experience with menus showcasing the diversity of Ecuadorian cuisine and the choice of ingredients available thanks to its location between the coast and the Andes.


Day 7:  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Mashpi Rainforest Reserve 

Stay: Mashpi Lodge

A full day to enjoy the magic of the forest. Start at dawn when most birds are active and views are often at their most spectacular. Activities include an adventure on the ‘canopy gondola’, guided nature trails, a visit to the discovery centre, a ride through the canopy on an aerial bicycle and waterfall visits.


Day 8: Mashpi -  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)


Stay: Casa Gangotena

Enjoy a final activity this morning before the return drive to Quito after lunch. A farewell dinner is arranged tonight. 


Day 9: (Breakfast)

Depart Quito 

Morning transfer for onward flight arrangements.

Weather to go

The high season is from June until September when the days are sunny and clear in the Highlands and there’s less rain in the Oriente. On the coast, the high season occurs from December until April with warm temperatures and occasional showers.

The shoulder season falls from October until November, with cooler temperatures and more rainfall in the Highlands.

December to May is low season with cooler, wet days in the Highlands. June to December is low season in The Galapagos with cool days, dry winds and rough seas. April until July is the low season for the Oriente with frequent heavy showers.
